Advancing Circular Economy in the existing building stock: A methodology to support building characterisation for sustainable refurbishment design

The lack of standard practices and platforms for assessing refurbishment strategies towards Circular Economy (CE) their impact in global warming constitutes a challenge the decarbonization existing building stock. Incorporating data feedback from designers practitioners since early design stages is important to feed multi-criteria dynamic process with multiple dimensions, which must be assessed under life cycle perspective. To tackle this issue, paper introduces new methodology support implementation tailored increased recovery, reuse recycling construction materials. final objective build methodological framework sustainable BIM environment, aims facilitate standardized sector, regarding CE, positive mitigation test development methodology, case study Lisbon, corresponding 1919 - 1945 archetype analysed, making use its model, where standardization criteria circularity indicators are discussed, order implemented as Plugin Circularity.
